Apologies but Utility Warrior will shortly cease to exist. This is not a decision that has been taken lightly but it is no longer economically viable to continue.

The situation appears to be that having Windows 32 bit DLLs is an issue in a world that is moving steadily but surely to 64 bit. Unfortunately the time and effort required for us to move our code base to 64 bit is not worth the likely gains.

Also companies are, quite rightly, choosing to use more recent technologies and .net in particular with all of it's productivity gains and great availability of standard .net libraries and open source code. It is infeasible to convert or change the Utility Warrior source code to become 100% managed C# as the existing code base is all pure C (un-managed) code.

One of the reasons for this shift to .net and managed C# code is that this can now be used in a full cross-platform manner (on Android, iOS and Mac OS X) using the Xamarin framework that Microsoft have recently invested in and are promoting as a great way to re-use 80% of application code between platforms.

There is nothing in our utilities (either Desktop Application, Command Line Tool or DLL) that makes any sort of callback - the utility that you have will go on working as long as Windows can run 32 bit code - which should be good for 15 to 20 years I would say given that Microsoft have only just stopped supporting DOS 16 bit programs in Windows 8!

Farewell and thank you to all our users in more than 70 countries around the world. We wish you well in the future.
Best regards,
Utility Warrior.
